About this fabric
A shiny satin face contrasts with a duller reverse. Fluid drape and a mobile weave make charmeuse slippery to cut and sew. Support it carefully and test fine seams, needle marks and pressing on a scrap.

Origins
Charmeuse is a light satin whose glossy face and subdued reverse became a signature of lingerie, bias-cut dresses, and fluid eveningwear. Silk established its luxury reputation, while rayon and polyester versions translated the same weave into different costs and care needs.
