Gaps where the needle went in but no stitch formed

Let’s check these in order

Use a scrap of the same layers and change one thing at a time.

1. Switch off the machine and fit a fresh needle of the system your manual specifies. Push it fully up into the clamp and orient its flat side as the manual shows. 2. Match the point to the fabric: Stretch or Jersey for knits, Microtex for tightly woven or coated cloth. 3. Check that needle size suits the thread, then rethread the top and bobbin paths with the presser foot raised. 4. On knits, test presser-foot pressure if your machine has that control; guide rather than pull the fabric. 5. Sew a scrap of the same layers. If it still skips after these checks, consult the manual or a technician about hook timing.
